The Detroit Medical Center says a breach of health information affects more than 1,500 patients seen at one of its facilities from 2015 to 2016. The announcement came Thursday after a staffing agency contracted by the DMC notified hospital officials that an employee provided the information to unauthorized individuals. Letters have been sent to 1,529 patients notifying them of the breach and offering credit monitoring for affected patients.
A union has filed a grievance in response to Western Michigan University’s hiring of goats to clear 15 acres of woodland on campus. The university hired the team of goats after a half-acre trial run last year. A University spokeswoman says that no school workers have been laid off by the goat project.
